Suggest Treatment For IBS And Bloating

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Jul 2016
Question: Can I live a normal life with a XXXXXXX cecum? How worried should I be that it could twist and cause me to have emergency surgery? I was told that cecopexies fail part of the time so my doctor wants me to wait. What should I do? Not having any problems, just IBS bloating type symptoms. Not really pain.

Brief Answer:
Yes, surgery is no longer a routine!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this XXXXXXX cecum. To me, there is no reason to rush for cecopexy given the failure rates. I rather suggest you live knowing it is possible that this twist and that will allow for early detection and treatment if that happens. However, a great proportion of people live normally and die with this condition necessitating no heroic interventions. You have no severe symptoms and really going under the knife for this would by somewhat more aggressive that required for this condition.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
