Posted on Thu, 17 Nov 2016
Question: I have CREST syndrome and recently had foot surgery that went south. Was in the hospital for 11 days taking many IV antibiotics 6 weeks ago. Have finished my at home Zyvox and Amox-Clav. Now it seems I have a yeast infection and also cannot tolerate eating anything with salt. My regular doctor is on family medical leave. Is there anything I can get from pharmacy over the counter to help? Am still taking my regular drugs--Tamoxiphen. Plaquenil, Synthroid, Pletal. Email is YYYY@YYYY .

Brief Answer:
take anti fungal tablets.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

I have gone through the question and understand your concern.

For yeast infection,anti-fungal medicines are recommended. I am not sure if you can get them over the counter as they are prescription drugs.

At the most, you can take anti -inflammatory tablets like paracetamol to prevent the progress of infection.

Avoid eating anything spicy . Avoid junk food.

Eat fruits with vitamin C.

You should consult your family doctor once he is available.

I hope your question has been answered.

Thanks.

Kind regards.
