Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy would help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your brother's symptoms, and treatment received.

For Bell's palsy, the treatment at this stage is physiotherapy. Medicines do not play much role now.

Physiotherapy would include facial exercises and electrical stimulation of the facial nerves.

Vitamin B12 supplements such as methycobal tablets may also be used.

No special precautions are needed and he can lead a normal life.

Best wishes,

Brief Answer:
No long term problems are expected.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

We do not expect any long term problems in Bell's palsy.

Pain may occur due to regeneration of the damaged facial nerve, and there is no need to worry.

Medicines such as pregabalin capsules may be used, if the pain is troublesome.

Which one should he use "methycobal tablets" or "pregabalin capsules" or both?

Brief Answer:
Both tablets may be used.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Both tablets may be used. Methycobal is vitamin b12 and helps in recovery of facial nerve damage.

Pregabalin helps relieve the pain of nerve origin.
