Suggest Treatmemt For Swollen And Inflamed Wound On Ankle

Question: Hi, I am unsure if I have an infected scab or not. Last week I believe it was, I was wearing a pair of boots around campus and somehow a hard part of the boot began rubbing against my ankle. It was painful but I had to get to class so I kept walking trying to maneuver it so it wasn't rubbing. After I got home I took the boots off and there was a little red sore as expected. I did not use any Neosporin or bandaids at the time. Well its been feeling sore and tender and hurts even when I wear low cut shoes. I woke up and it felt a bit stiff. I think this is because I continued wearing shoes and socks that might have been irritating it. Its a brown scab, and is pink around the edges. It is slightly swollen around my ankle area. Other than that, there is no fever, no pus, or streaks coming from the sight (as I read these were symptoms).

Care of the area

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

I have seen the attached picture.
You have developed a superficial wound with surrounding redness and some swelling .
Keep the affected area clean and dry.
Wash the affected area with lukewarm saline water twice daily.
Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the lesion twice daily.
I am sure this will help you .
