Brief Answer:
It means infection in the urinary tract

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It seems there is indisputably an infection in the urinary tract, the organism was mentioned already which is local commensal but it grew in numbers which is not good. This person has to be on antibiotics for 5 days. The source of infection could be environment or even instrumentation during TURP procedure.

So please see the doctor for prescription of antibiotics. Hope this answers.

It is not contagious but for a person over 60 yr old needs immediate treatment to contain the infection. This can sooner land in kidney failure if left untreated.
