Brief Answer:
You need at lest blood tests done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Accordingly to your symptoms you need blood tests work done, because the cause of your concerns may be anemia.
This is the first step and you need to discuss about it with your primary care Doctor.
If it is anemia suspected, then other appropriate tests about its cause ( gastritis, malignancy, iron and vitamin B12 deficiency) should be assessed too.
Treatment depends on tests results.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

as I have hemochromotosis I think it would not be anemia. My Doctor has run a few tests and says he cannot find anything wrong.
Brief Answer:
Did the Doctor measure Zinc and B12 vitamin?
Detailed Answer:
Hi again Jwillson.
If your Doctor did general blood tests and didn't find anemia, it's okay.
You need to have blood tests done about Zinc, XXXXXXX and vitamin B12 levels, before taking any supplements.
If you say Zinc use improves your symptoms, then most probably Zinc level is low.
Try to modify lifestyle about alcohol and food, and I think you will see further improvement.
Best regards. Wishing you good health.
