Suggest Remedy For Stomach Pain And Nausea When On Vyvanse

Question: My daughter takes vyvanse and is experiencing stomach pains and nauseous XXXXXXX - other than taking it with food, is there anything else she can do such as mylanta etc? It is very effective for her adhd so she doesn't want to stop it. Would a lower dose help?

She has been taking it for 3 years - 60 mg.

It's been just recently that she's felt bad - maybe 2 wks.

She's also been having allergies lately which is fairly common for New Orleans.

She takes the vyvanse first thing in the morning. I suggested she eat first and she tried that and it didn't help. When she does eat something, it's usually cereal with milk. Would it help to eat something else before she takes it?

Sorry for late response.

Vyvanse can cause stomach upset and irritation.
Vyvanse has nothing much to do with food.
It can be taken before or after food.

Mylanta can help in dealing with gastritis due to vyvanse.

If mylanta does not help, dose reduction must be considered if the stomach issues are distressing.

Also, she should avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water.
