Suggest Remedy For Sore Scalp And Painful Jolt In The Ear

Question: Hi I have are really sore scalp at the moment. Some areas of scalp are very sensitive and sore when I touch certain areas I seem to get some nerve pain? My left ear is getting a very painful jolt every now and then. I also have some twitching in my left eye but I have had twitching on and off for some time over a year with some lip and facial spasms without the other symptoms and put that down to stress and tiredness. I have had a cold recently and I don't get sick but throughout I seemed to have a sore throat which appears to have cleared and I wasn't coughing but I felt like I had to clear my throat with a little cough now and again. These could be separate things as I have had sinus surgery a long time ago as I do produce a lot of clear mucus so perhaps that could be in my throat causing me to need to lightly cough to clear my throat?

Just thought I should mention it all.

Any help appreciated

Brief Answer:
ENT problem all symptoms connected

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and I understand your concern. With history of sinusitis and recent sore throat. These ear aches and sore scalp are the likely sequelae of that sore throat and that tender scalp is likely a sinus cavity involved.

All you need is some good aantibiotic, a decongestant and rest with some symptomatic pain relief after getting confirmed by PNS radiographs.

Just get to an otorhinilaryngologist and get some prescription pills for a week and you will be good as new.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.

Thank you fir yoir answer. When you say all symptoms comnected are you also reffering to the twitching eye? I dont have any lip or cheek twitching at present that is very rare and seems to come and go if im stressed.

Also i wanted to add that when i fly my left eye can get excruciating pain from the change of pressure like what happens in ears but i feel pins and needles radiating around eye and sharp stabbinv pains. I mention this as sometimes i get a mild version very mild when not flying like when im bunged up or been ill. My left eye feels a bit irritable now.

Is there anythinv i can do about the issue with the eye when flying? It seems to happen more on the planes decent rather than takeoff.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
symptomatic treatment no worries

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

Most eye twitches are involuntary, harmless spasms of the small muscles surrounding the eye. The most common triggers are squinting, stress, fatigue, and excess intake of caffeine and alcohol. Another increasingly common trigger is eye strain, related to long periods of time in front of the computer, working in low light settings or due to a wrong prescription if you wear contact lenses or glasses.

Twitching eye during take off is also connected with pressure changes. as an airplane takes off and climbs (ascends), cabin pressure decreases, and small pockets of air trapped in the sinuses and middle ear expand, leading to ear pressure, ear popping, or both and to mild sinus pressure or discomfort. As an airplane descends, cabin pressure increases, and similar symptoms occur. These mild sensations usually disappear as air pressure in the sinuses and ears. This pressure changes also put pressure on nerves supplying ocular muscles.

That is nothing to worry about. It just needs symptomatic treatment. Taking some anti emetic or gastric Prokinetics help. Some muscle relaxants and anxiolytics also help.

I hope it helps.
Take care XXXXXXX
