Suggest Remedy For Skin Rashes On Shoulder And Upper Back

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Nov 2014
Question: Hello,
I have seen some skin rashes appearing in the past two days on shoulder, and upper back, lower abdominal area. And I keep seeing new rashes every day since then now on the chest and lower back and a couple on my thighs as well. The rashes are slightly itchy and red colored. There is no pus or fluid in any of them as of now. I am controlling the urge to scratch any of them. The rashes are of varying sizes and seem to be few and far between. Not too many. Like about 20-25 spots on the whole body. Some of them are as big as a green bean while some others are like dots. Could any dermatologist please let me know what this could be? I never had anything like this before (so many rashes at the same time). Could this be some kind of an STD?

Brief Answer:
urticaria

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query and photographs.
You have developed acute urticaria.
It is an allergic condition.
Anything including food, cloth, change in climate, pollens etc can cause urticaria.
You need to find out the cause.
Treatment can be with oral anti histamines like cetrizine.
you don't need to worry much. It will subside on its own.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
Thank you

Doctor. No I don't see any fluid coming out of the sores. They are just slightly more itchy than yesterday and I am controlling my urge. I am rubbing on them not avoiding scratching them. It looks like its spreading slowly. May be because I am rubbing on the sores and then touching other parts of my body?

I had fever briefly yesterday afternoon until 6 or 7 But its gone. NO body pains either. I did not take any medication.
