Suggest Remedy For Severe Stomach Pain And Heavy Bleeding During Periods
Question: Sir, my daughter is 15years old , this month she is having heavy bleeding in her periods and did not stopped and continued for more than 15days, we have consulted a lady doctors she has prescribed Novelon tablets , on consuming this tablets, my daughter is suffering from stomach pain, vomotin and loose motions, plz advise, we r giving Rabikind for stomach irritation , but she is having loose motions. We r worried about this side effects as doctor suggested to take novelon for 3 cyclees. Is there any safe alternative drug for hormone imbalance

In my opinion the loose motions,pain abdomen might not be due to novelon.
The sideeffects of novelon include nausea,vomitings,headache,breast pain etc.
But the loose motions might not be attributed to novelon.They might be due to some stomach infection.You might need a course of antibiotics in case of infection and it will subside.
The irregular and heavy bleeding is commonly seen in a few girls and it is a condition called puberty menorrhagia.It is due to hormonal imbalance created by immature H-P-O axis.
As age advances the axis gets matured and cycles get regular.
The other causes for it like blood abnormalities,thyroid abnormalities are ruled out.And it is good that they are all normal.
So nothing to worry.This problem spontaneously gets corrected with age in most of the cases.
Usually the Tranexa and k-stat are tried and if not getting controlled hormonal pills are started.
Taking them for 2-3 cycles might also be helpful.No other alternatives might be necessary.The nausea due to novelon might be present initially and stops with usage.
Iron rich diet and iron supplements are needed to combat the anaemia caused due to heavy bleeding.
