Brief Answer:
Yes you need to consult before starting them.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Thank you for writing in again.
Thank you for your kind words of appreciation also.
Yes, the pain during periods might be because of the fibroids and the cyst.
You cannot take the progesterone only pills by yourself, you would need a prescription.
So yes, you need to consult a gynecologist .
Did a gynecologist ask you for the sonography ?
If yes, please consult her / him again.
You can discuss the suggestion of progesterone only pills such as Cerazette / Micronor.
The added benefit is that they act as contraceptive birth control pills also, so if you want a birth control option for the initial few months after getting married, these pills would serve that purpose too.
These pills are known to reduce size and number of fibroids and can help with shrinking a haemorrhagic cyst also.
But yes, you need to consult your doctor before starting them for the prescription.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.

Dear Doc,

One small question. As I will be getting married next month. Is it safe to take medicines to get my periods early this month? And if yes then can you kindly suggest best medicine without any side effect for this?

Brief Answer:
Need few details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Yes, it is safe to take medications to alter the dates of your periods, if it is very essential for you to do that.
I can suggest medication for that purpose, though again, it is a prescription drug, and best taken after consulting .
In order to give you that information, I need a few more details.
When was your last menstrual period ?
Are your cycles regular ?
ON what dates do you wish to avoid your periods ?
Let me know so that I can guide you accordingly.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Better to postpone

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Let me explain how this works.
Generally to modify periods, progesterone tablets are used.
This includes pills such as - Meprate, Deviry, Primolut - N.
10 mg twice a day ( 2 tablets a day ) are taken for 5 days.
When you stop, you can have your period maximum within a week.
It can begin the next day, or it can begin after 7 days, nobody can predict when.
SO in your case, if you wish to have your periods by 25th of July, then even if you start Meprate / Deviry today and take it for 5 days ( 16, 17, 18 , 19, 20 ), still there is no guarantee that you will have your period on 25th July.
Instead it is much more reliable to postpone your period, instead of making it come earlier than normal.
Let it come on schedule this time, you can expect it by 29th of July.
IN August, start taking the tablets suggested right from 20th of August, and continue taking until you wish to avoid bleeding, instead of just for 5 days.
Whenever you stop, you will start bleeding within a week.
I think that is a more reliable option for your situation.
I hope you understood what I have explained.
If you wish, I can elaborate.
Please consult your doctor before starting these medications, these are my suggestions, and you need a prescription for them.
Take care.
