Suggest Remedy For Radiating Pain In Stomach And In The Abdominal Area

Question: Thank you. I am experiencing intermittent pain - very short waves of it - on my right side just at waistline and sometimes a fraction below that. Sometimes felt at the back of body, sometimes at front. Most noticeable on waking, when stomach empty. Sometimes the same pain occurs at a similar position on the left side, frontal, and sometimes on RHS a little below waist, in lower abdomen. Not acute, but causing concern. Because it's not confined to one area, i am puzzled. Last year after taking one Vimovo antiflammatory for sacroiliac strain within 25 mins i had horrendous knife-like pains through all digestive organs, radiating from front to back, which lasted 5 hrs. GP recorded this as an allergic reaction. Since then i have felt whole digestive system is sensitive, as those pains have come and gone, and sometimes i get a nagging pain in my stomach too if it is empty. Any advice much appreciated, thank you Doctor !

Brief Answer:
Possible Mesenteric ischemia? Need confirmation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern.

I have gone through your query in detail.

The gut symptoms in your case should be thoroughly evaluated.

The pattern of colicky pain especially after exertion(walking) and stomach emptying should point to chronic mesenteric ischemia /Intestinal angina.

This is a vascular bowel disorder.A through screening is essential.

For this, I advise you to get an ultrasound of the abdomen and intestinal angiography.

Further management is based largely on the test results.

The likelihood of an allergic reaction as suggested by your GP seems unlikely to me at the moment.

Vimovo use in the past is not related to your current symptoms.

Past medical incidents like BCC, Sacroilitis, G-'ve bacilli infection, car crash injuries may not be related to your current illness.

But the association of past medical illness like Ch Brucellosis, Milroy's disease, BP crisis, Chronic Vascular insufficiency and Overweight may be linked to your current illness.

Hence, a thorough evaluation is suggested.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
