Suggest Remedy For Problem In Potty Training
Question: hi,
I have a daughter of 3 years old and recently I delivered a baby boy and he is 2 months old. her reaction to her brother is bit different. sometimes she gently touches and sometimes she does it very hard and it hurts him. also she is not able to tell if she wants to goto toilet now. she had been pottery trained earlier and everything was fine until her brother was born.
can you please advise what needs to be done in this case?

This is basically due to sibling rivalry and attention seeking nature of elder kid
When there is newborn at home, the older kid gets neglected. This is not intentionally done by parents but happens due to care and attention needed by newborn. All the Resource are diverted at younger one.
Do not worry things can be taken care off. I would suggest you the following
1. Do spend time with your daughter:Even though it may be difficult doing this, you can do it by involving your daughter in care of your son.
2. Make her feel she is also Important to you
3. Do prepare her favourite dish.
4. Speak to her :Tel her explain her its her brother and she being the elder has to manage him
5. Go slow. This is all normal and part and parcel of normal development of children
6. Be gentle to her
7. Fix her potty time and remind her gently of it.
8. Ensure adequate water intake
