Question: Hello I am a 45 year old female and I've been having some pain on the right side next to the vagina lips. it's been happening for about 3 months last time I have this was back in July when I went for my annual and everything checked off fine for my doc. No tears lesions bumps etc he said. My pap smear came back fine. he kind of blame it on my exercise planking. I haven't planked since july. I notice pain more constant especially when I'm leaning or walking in general and going up steps. Sometimes pain is more constant than others sometimes of pain last longer sometimes it comes and goes away. I i do notice some ache not severe lying straight in bed. It comes and goes when it wants to. It goes under to the bottom of the vagina bottom sometimes to the bum so slightly. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Could be an underlying bone issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Do you have any itching / visible redness ?
Is intercourse painful ?
Are your cycles regular , are they painful ?
It maybe just pain in that area of the bony pelvis - could be calcium deficiency ?
Please get your calcium levels checked , vitamin D levels too.
If the pain is really annoying, it is wise to have a pelvic MRI done, to pick up any possible bone cause.
All the best.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

Hello thank you. No itch at all. Maybe slightly red then other side. Intercourse is fine no pain. My last cycle was early at 21 days. Vit d levels are fine. My naturopathic doc checked that for me. I am on 5000 iu day. Pain is definite more noticeable upon initial walking then dissipates. I was taking magnesium and vit. C more often back a few months ago but I have stop those and not taking the supplements any longer. Is that a cause maybe?

Brief Answer:
Yes, it could be the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, could be.
Multivitamin deficiency could cause those vague aches and pains.
Try and resume a stronger dosage of magnesium and vitamin C , and watch if the pain gets better over the next few weeks.
If not, a pelvic imaging would be a logical next step.
Take care.
