Suggest Remedy For Persistent Pain In Neck

default
Posted on Fri, 18 Dec 2015
Question: Dear Sir / Madam,

I am obtaining a second opinion.

My mother has been in pain for about 6 months now in the back of her neck. I attach some photos where you can see the red swelling and white bits (don't know what it is).

Upon touching the area it seems the area is disjointed and is not normal say compared to a normal neck. This is affecting my Mother's everyday life, in pain every day.

We have seen a doctor and they have referred her to a Physiotherapy. This isn't yielding any results, although we have had only one session.

Would have a guess to see what the issue could be and what options we may have ? Thank you

Best,

Saif

Brief Answer:
psoriasis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
It seems that this skin lesion is psoriasis. see a dermatologist to confirm it

Now as it seems, neck and back pain is may be a part of psoriatic arthritis or just spondilitis.
If I was your treating physician I'd advise for ESR and CRP BLOOD TEST and inform me

Meanwhile just take OTC pain killer if required, as per the dosage and frequency i'm mentioning here and not more than that(Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg three times a day after food for 3-5 days)

Please get back to me with the reports or any other query

Regards
