Brief Answer:
Peripheral vascular disease

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have recently been diagnosed with peripheral vascular disease and you need to know how to treat it. I agree with stop smoking and adding niacin to your supplements. You should also start a regular walking program. You should walk daily but to not walk if you get leg pain. I would have you walk daily and gradually increase your walking until you can walk comfortably at a good pace without pain.

In addition to niacin you may ask your medical provider add a cholesterol lowering medication like crestor or lipitor. These medications may reduce the size of cholesterol plaques.

Another medication called trental or plendil are medications that help dilate the arteries in our legs to help improve circulation. This will improve your exercise and help improve overall circulation

In summary
1. stop smoking
2. Add lipitor or crestor for lower cholesterol and reducing cholesterol plaques
3. Exercise daily start gradually
4. Add Trental or plendil for better circulation
