Brief Answer:
Your pain is probably due to gall stones

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The liver generates bile which is temporarily stored in the gall bladder. From the gall bladder the bile is regularly ejected through the cystic duct and common bile duct in to the duodenum after food.

2. If there are stones in gall bladder then there is pain felt after food and is intense and can be there for few hours. What happens is the gall bladder contracts after food and the stone causes obstruction to flow of bile and the pain is felt.

3. It will help to see your ultrasound scan report and what your surgeon has told. Udiliv can help reduce size of stones in some patients but not always.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
