Suggest Remedy For Pain In Knee After An Injury

Question: I sustained a fall in my bedroom, fell completely on my right patella say one month ago it hurt as I expected it to hurt ROM good I favored this knee, overworking the other knee I live in a 3 floor condo, lots of stairs, I call it a lighthouse LOL but lately my knees are hurting with all transfers I know my weight does not help, but I can only lose the weight so fast my son who is in the health field as well ( I am retired nurse) tells me to try warm then cool compress, wrap with ace bandage how can an MD see if I tore something, and if I did, what would be needed?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. You may be having soft tissue injury. You are likely to get benefited by quadriceps excercises and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Vitamin B and C will be helpful in recovery. MD can see by clinical examination for ligament and meniscus test. Most useful investigation whether something is broken or damaged is likely to be investigated by MRI scan of knee joint. However your bony injury can be seen also by x ray of knee joint.
