Suggest Remedy For Numbness In Face With Headache

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: my son is 29 yrs old and is experiencing sudden numbness in right side of face including and tongue. The numbness continued down right side of his body. He now has a bad headache but most of numbness has subsided. This began approx. 1.5 hrs ago...His back has been hurting him all day. He was recently diagnosed with a compression in the L5 area. Also, approx. 2 yrs ago he was diagnosed with a cyst deep in his brain. He was originally thinking the back pain was related to his fracture but now that his head is badly throbbing could he possibly be having a stroke? Or is it related to his brain cyst? He is 6'6 - 215 lbs and otherwise in good physical condition

Brief Answer:
Possibility of sensory seizures

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxx,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Feeling of numbness over one side of face and body of sudden onset may be due to sensory seizures.
You have mentioned about cyst in brain.
What is exact location of cyst.
Is it on the left side of brain?
Please upload images or report of Mri.
These symptoms are not related to disc disease.
For sensory seizure, Eeg may be required.
For treatment antiepileptics have to be started.
Is there any history of anxiety, stress as one possibility may also be malingering but first all possibly causes have to be ruled out.
Possibility of stroke can not be ruled out on history and require repeat Mri brain.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
