Posted on Fri, 11 Dec 2015
Question: The past two weeks I have had some itching in the anal and vulva area. There are a few little pink spots, but they may always been there and i dont check down there with a mirror often (rarely), so it might be normal. I also haven't been showering as much lately, maybe three times in 2 weeks, so once i shower symptoms seems to present for a few hours then disappear totally within a day or so.

Fungal infection likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxxxxx,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply :

1) Itch and lesions you are typing are typically example of possible fungal infection.

2) Continue showering more often, atleast once in 2 days. Keep area dry after bath.

3) Meanwhile you can use ointments like monistat to bring temporary relief to the rashes.

I am not sure if my follow up question went through. By monistat do you mean something topical or the type you is inserted into the vagina? I used that a long time ago.

I don't quite remember how a yeast infection feels, it feel like it is warmer inside my vagina than normal. Not like a burning, but sort of a warm stinging. Are the red dots i mentioned also something that is associated with a yeast infection?

Brief Answer:
Topical and vaginal pessaries against yeast will help

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are right.

These red spots are associated with yeast infection. Especially the warm feeling inside vagina also suggests possibility of yeast infection.

Monistat is a topical ointment. You also get vaginal pessaries of different brand which are useful against this yeast infection.

Using combination of vaginal pessaries and topical ointment against yeast will help you to get rid of red spots as well as vaginal warmth. These medicines against yeast are generally available over the counter.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Regards
