Suggest Remedy For Infected In Grown Hair Under The Penis
Question: A week and ahalf ago My boyfriend came to me complaining about an ingrown hair that became infected under his penis. It appears to be red and swollen with a hole in the center. A day later a swollen lymph node appeared in his right groin. He has since been to the doctor, had some blood work done and is now waiting for the results. Could the ingrown hair be the cause of the problem or should we be worried?
I've read online that STD's could also cause swollen Lymph nodes in the groin area. When they occur is it usually bilateral or would only one lymph node become inflamed? Like with Chlamydia or herpes

The reason for this lymph nodal swelling is the infection due to the ingrown hair and is not an STD.
Whatever it may be, a local infection or the STD induced infection or eruption, the swelling of the lymph nodes is due to the infection of that specific area which is drained by the particularly swollen lymph nodes. It may be bilateral or unilateral depending on the infection being in the area of drainage for those lymph nodes.
With the history of the previous infection due to the ingrown hair it is clearly due to this specific infection not the STD.
