Suggest Remedy For Hypersensitivity To Medicines
Question: My dad is 72 and hypersensitive to medicine. For instance, he got
a muscle disorder from Lipitor, violent vomiting from amoxicillin,
facial numbness from Levequin, irregular heartbeat from Celebrex...
just to name a few. Now the doctors are trying to change his meds
for AFib and add meds for what they think may be Parkinsons. Of
course he is sick, right now with nausea and dizziness. What is a
person to do if they simply can't take medicine? Doctors don't
seem to take the problem seriously. Is there way to address this
problem that we need to investigate. I know how important the meds
are but I am afraid he just can't tolerate them.

There is no test available which detects severity and incidence of drug side effects.
Side effects are common to occur and if severe than drug should be stopped.
Again New drug with less side effects should be tried . The drug,patient is able tolerate is the ideal drug for him.
And this should be determined by trial and error method in such cases.
So start treatment advised by doctor. If he develops side effects than consult again and ask for other drugs with same benefits and lesser side effects.
