Question: Itchy & dry skin, including mouth and tongue which feel as though they have been burnt by a cup of hot tea. Any suggestions as to what might cause this?

Brief Answer:
It is called glossitis. It occurs due to deficiency of Vitamin B

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query. Let me ask if there is an actual probability of your tongue getting scorched by sip of some hot liquid. If not, it could still occur due to deficiency of certain B vitamins and taking B complex tablets once daily for a week should resolve the problem.
I will await your inputs.

I have been taking vitamin B Complex for the past five days, showing no benefit to date.

Brief Answer:
Could be burning mouth syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Apart from vitamin deficiency, electrolyte imbalance is a possible cause. It is hard to comment wityhout a clinical examination. In such cases it is often not easy to identify the cause. It is possible that you have a condition called Burning Mouth Syndrome.

I would insist you to visit a doctor and get yourself evaluated.
