Suggest Remedy For Difficulty In Conceiving
Question: Hello Doctor,
It has been two years I have been married and from last 3 months we (me and my wife) are trying to have a baby but couldn't succeed so far.
Wanted to know what all we might be doing wrong?

Hi XXXXXXX I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. When a couple fails to conceive after one year of successful unprotected intercourse, then they are labelled as having infertility and are investigated and treated for the cause. Therefore, I would suggest you both to not to worry as you have tried for three months only.
The chances to conceive in one menstrual cycle, when everything is completely normal, is only20-25% .
Sometimes, there is no proper knowledge of fertile period of the menstrual cycle, when the chances of conception are maximum. It is advisable to follow fertile period, approximately from Day 8 to day 22 of the cycle and have unprotected intercourse preferably every alternate day in this period to maximize the chances of conception.
Moreover, I would suggest your wife to take folic acid tablet daily as taking it in preconceptional and periconceptional period greatly decreases the chances of congenital anomalies in the fetus.
