Posted on Wed, 9 Dec 2015
Question: Whilst retrieving a box from under my dads conifer hedge (leylandii) my right hand and wrist came out in a very itchy rash. Now 8 days later the rash is still there. I have tried different creams etc. but nothing seems to heal it. Can you recommend something?

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for the query.
Probably you have developed contact dermatitis.
it is an allergic reaction.
Your hand might have come in contact with some allergen due to which you have developed this reaction
I treat such cases with a strong steroid cream like clobetasol.
it gives good results within a week.
If you have already tried steroid cream then you might require an oral dose of steroids for a short period in order to counter the reaction.
Please try this in consultation with your doctor.
let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
