Suggest Remedy For Chest Pain And High Heart Rate

default
Posted on Fri, 22 Aug 2014
Question: I'm having slight chest pains, nothing horible but definitely noticeable. I have been taking my blood pressure which seems OK, 125/83, but my heart rate is fairly high. Over 125bpm

Should I go to the ER? I do not have good insurance and I am not looking to spend money for no reason

I am a 37 male, in decent shape. 5'10" 185lbs but have been under a lot of stress during the last 6 months.

Brief Answer:
Most likely related to stress and anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome.

I have read your history carefully.

The symptoms seem to be related to stress or anxiety.

I would advise empiric treatment first including a PPI such as esomeprazole and a prokinetic such as itopride or metoclopramide for dealing with dyspepsia and GERD. Also a low dose propranolol for the increased heart rate.

Most likely your symptoms should subside.

If your condition remains the same or gets worse for example if you develop

a more severe chest pain
shortness of breath
confusion

then you would definitely require an E.R visit to rule out any serious cause.
