Suggest Remedy For Blisters In Groin Area And Rash After Using Crystal Meth

Question: Hello,
I have an issue with my groin, buttocks and armpit areas. Under the influence of crystal meth, my partner and I (male to male, monogamous) had sex for 15+ hours with nothing anal related done to me. Maybe a few days later my buttocks was very itchy and appeared to be developing a rash. Within a few days, the rash spread to my groin areas and started to develop puss filled blisters. The blisters started on my groin just under my testicles. Some of them are rather large, possibly 1cm in diameter. They ooze and drain but then another one pops up. This has been happening for two weeks. I then noticed that is was spreading to my right axilla but it's not as severe. It has now also appeared on my left axilla. I have already visited the doctor, although I was not completely honest re: meth use (which I'm not even sure is relevant). The doctor did a swab test for HSV and it came back negative. He has referred me to a dermatologist but unfortunately the dermatologist is so backed up that my appointment is in one month. The doctor's referral note indicates vesicular rash, but it seems that this is a rather general term. I have been keeping the areas clean and dry as best to my ability and at some points it seems like its getting better, but then I will wake up after a night's sleep and there will be more new blisters. I'm thinking of applying applying a hydrocortisone cream in the mean time but I am afraid of causing more harm. Here is a little about myself:
Healthy male, 29 years old. No allergies. No other symptoms what so ever. I do, however, also suffer from tinea versicolor (mostly on my lower and upper back) which I mentioned to my doctor.
Any assistant with this is greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Hydrocortisone cream is contraindicated in presence of an infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Crystal Meth can produce lot of side effects. But this type of vesicular lesions over groin, under scrotum and axilla are not common to get.
You had not mentioned anything about itching over and around the lesions. If there is itching, I will diagnose your problem as Tinea Corporis (Ring worm or Jock itch) with secondary bacterial infection due to scratching. Other possibilities are vesiclo-bullous eruptions of various skin disorders. Your problem is quite unlikely to be due to Genital Herpes or other STDs. Herpes is more a localized condition occurring in grouped vesicles (not pus filled, but with clear fluid) and would go for ulceration within 12 hours. This would not have extended up to groin, scrotum and axilla from buttock area.
Applications of Hydrocortisone cream sometimes do worsen the condition if there is an infection.
So the dermatologist will easily solve the problem after examination and investigations. Try to meet him as earliest as possible.
