Suggest Remedy For Back Boil

Question: Hi Doctor,

I have got a boil on my back and am unable to sit and walk. Can you please tell me what should I do to get rid of dis pain and boil?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

The management of a boil consists in managing the pain. Some require antibiotics and many do not. If the abscess is big then we may need to incise and drain the pus collection.

For pain management, I will recommend that you get Tylenol and Ibuprofen. If the abscess if big, I will recommend that you get evaluated by a doctor and also get some antibiotics if need be. Applying cold packs could also help.
