Question: bruise looks to be turning into rash?

hello, about 2 weeks ago I got a painful ankle sprain in rugby, caused some bruising but now it appears to be a rash, and it's either spreading or hasn't healed. The ankle/shin was again aggrevated last Thursday at practice. It is also pretty itchy at times but I've avoided scratching it. it stings some when I stand up. Is this a rash or bruise? What should I do to treat it?

Brief Answer:
This can be contact dermatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I Have studied your case and I think you are developing contact dermatitis. This is not bruise and its margins are looking shiny. Itching is also sign of inflammation. So my suggestion is that you need to visit your skin specialist and take his opinion. He would suggest you to apply steroid ointment like Betamethasone.
Contact dermatitis can develop due to allergy to medicines or local cream applied by you for ankle pain. Some time there is no obvious cause. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
