Question: My sister in law had sepsis and was in ICU for ten days. She is now angry and not fully talking like she was before. What is the probability of this being permanent She was on a ventilator for 10 days

Before proceeding to answer your question, let me assure you that I have had the experience of working in the ICU with the patients on ventilator. So, what I say is backed up by my experience. The days on the ventilator can be quite traumatic for a patient. After an episode of such a sepsis, it is not unusual for a person to be irritable. If a person is not in sound health, it is quite usual for such a thing to happen. I do not think that it would be permanent. Give it some time, it will gradually normalise.

Be patient. You would need to give her time to heal. Give her a cordial atmosphere as well as proper nutrition for the same.
