Suggest Remedies For Vomiting And Running Nose In A Child

Question: Hi Doctor
Warm wishes!

My son DOB 26/Apr/2013. We are based out of XXXXXXX , XXXXXXX . Its moderate to some times heavy rainy season here.
He had vomitting on 29th XXXXXXX afternoon at around 4pm . He had lunch at 2pm with
Rice , potatoe, more riped mangoe . Morning lemon rice.
He is not showing signs of fever and his temperature was 97.1 F at night on 29th XXXXXXX
He is getting sleep after vomitting.

At end of vomitting he got pale yellow juice .
If he is taking water or any food , he is vomitting after little time
He is having moderate running nose.

He has started going to school from past one month

By consulting with paediatrician on phone , he suggested

Omdem 3ml with empty stomach and then food after 30mins to 1 hr
Junior Lazol for moderate stomach ache

He is not crying .
Pls suggest for medication / care

Pls revert back as soon as possible.

Your doctor has rightly prescribed Ondem and Junior Lanzol. However, he needs to take plenty of fluids, especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) in order to make up for the salt and water lost. The adequacy of this would be evident if he passes urine at normal frequency. The yellow fluid after vomiting is actually due to accumulation of bilious secretions.

I would also insist you to give him levocetrizine once daily for the next few days in order to reduce the runny nose.
