Suggest Remedies For Swelling And Bruising On The Knee After Removal Of Varicose Veins
Question: One year ago I had varicose veins removed from lower legs. The right leg was numb after the laser procedure.
My leg began hurting, swelling, and now there is bruising from the knee down to ankle. My family doctor has prescribed DICLOFENAC SOD EC 75mg 2ce/daily. One week ago I was doing a camp exercise and after doing one jumping XXXXXXX I heard a crack and went to ER. An x-ray and ultra sound were done showing nothing.
I am still in pain and the bruising is not getting any better.
What suggestions, if any, do you recommend? I've been with an ice pack for four hours.

As the details are very scanty,I would need more information soon-as follows-
In which part of leg you had a crack heard-is it ankle/ knee joint/ or leg in middle? Give its exact location.Is it in achilles tendon?
Where is the swelling/ bruising-with exact location?
How is your leg with painful hurting,swelling, after Diclofenac treatment?
Do you find any relation of post-crack pain?
My Primary Opinion-
In My opinion, in the given situation you have following health issues as follows-
a-You seem to be having ongoing pain/swelling in legs,post- laser treatment of Varicose Veins,for which you are with diclofenac treatment.
b-Crack heard in the leg Post jumping XXXXXXX but location and place is not given.
Hence further opinion in this regard would be given later.
Other cause need to be ruled out before starting any treatment by Consults with Surgeon,who do needful physical checks and would work out treatment for you.
If need be Second Opinion from Orthopaedic Surgeon to fix causes and plan treatment of it,would be needed.
Do's Suggested-.
Check with family doctor and Orthopaedist if needed.
HOt fomentation
Massage with Diclofenac gel(OTC)
Anti-inflammatory-Tab Ibuprofen-to start with 400 mg
Continue with Muscle relaxants with script from doctor-like Cyclobenzaprine-5 mg to start with 2 times a day
Next appointment-
Soon to review treatment .
