Brief Answer:
Simple benign growth of glands of lip area.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for posting your pictures.

After diligently analyzing your complete query and the pictures let me reassure you first that the eruption is a simple cyst. It appears to be quite benign and not related to any cancerous condition.

These kind of growth are seen quite commonly on lip area and are formed due to trauma over the affected area. This results in blockage of the glands and then it enlarges due to collection of secretion in it. It never turns into any malignancy or related thing.

In my patients I simply excise this growth surgically or remove with radio frequency ablation.

These kind of growths responds poorly to medical treatment or with any application or injections. So it is best if you can meet a doctor and get it removed. I reassure you that it is simple benign structure sa per it's appearance.

I hope this helps.

With regards,

So it should be removed and caterized, correct?
I've never had any trauma to that area, so I'm confused as to the cause.
I am VERY sexually active, orally. with both males and females, could that activity cause it? If so, how? Could it be some kind of STD or HIV related issue.
Finally, once it's removed, will it come back again?

Brief Answer:
No relation with any Sexually transmitted infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for your further follow up.

It is quite common to get these kind of growth after simple trauma or even friction which we don't notice very often. Most of the times it is such a trivial injury that we'd never been able to notice the same.

Such kind of eruptions are mimicking with warts which could be both with or without sexual origin. But in such a case of warts it appears as pointed structure.

I recommend my patients to get these kind of growth to be excised. It is the best way to rid of this problem. If excised properly then it never recurs back.

I further reassure you that it does not have any relation with any Sexually transmitted infection including HIV.

So allay all your fears and get it removed.

I hope this helps.

With regards,

Dr Sanjay Kanodia
