Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In Lower Left Back

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Aug 2016
Question: I've been experiencing severe pain in my lower left back for a few weeks and massage therapy does not alleviate the pain.

Also, no trouble urinating and the pain does move around, so doesn't appear to be kidney stones.

Brief Answer:
Hello. This could be a disc problem

Detailed Answer:
Mark, kidney stone pain can move around a bit depending on where the stone is and whether it's slowly moving down the ureter, so I wouldn't rule that out.

That said, this could be a lumbar disc problem compressing a nerve root.

I suggest you see your doctor and I would get a urinalysis, ct scan of the abdomen, and an MRI of the lumbar spine to check for all these possibilities.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Got in to see a chiro today and feels better already. I think your prognosis of disc issue was spot on. Many thanks.

Thank you. I was planning on the urology test next, but the Chiro seemed to know exactly what my issue was from golf. I will go back to him 2 more times. Then I think I'm golden. Appreciate your expertise as I was at a loss.

Brief Answer:
Chiro wouldn't help a kidney stone

Detailed Answer:
If the chiro relieved the pain, then it definitely wasn't a stone
