Brief Answer:
possible chronic urticaria due to immunologic/non immunologic cause

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health query and before addressing your concern about pathology & contact near XXXXXXX do let me know about following:

1. rashes over 6 weeks are rarely due to allergy and since he has taken opinion of dermatlogist and also find no connection with food intake thus a careful and detailed examination is necessary thus do let me know about any other common cause of urticaria, i.e

. use of drugs (aspirin, morphine, insulin, sulpha drugs)
. food induced (common and recurrent) thus again try to find the cause
. more use of food additives?
. any history of allergic rhinitis, asthmatic bronchitis, seasonal?
. any recurrent viral infection, or intestinal disease?
. any physical (pressure, friction, heat, cold, or too much emotional stress/exercise)
. any autoimmune disease like thyroid problem, lupus?
. any contact urticaria?

Thanks for the reply Doctor!

None of the above were actually the reasons:

food induced (common and recurrent) thus again try to find the cause
. more use of food additives?
Unable to find the right food cause as the Skin rash n itch was also triggered for home food sometimes.

. any recurrent viral infection, or intestinal disease?
But At some of time an year back or so,he had issues with frequent visits to washroom (Bowel problem), during that time used to skip milk products completely, at times used to starve. This would happen if he was under tremendous stress, any how this has not been the case for past 5-6 months now.
Due to this problem, he consulted general physician and he told this is due to some infection. suggested some medicine(for about 15 days) and then the problem disappeared from 6 months .

When I searched for Urticaria in the Net, I came across the cause: Intestinal Worms in some ayurvedic website.

Can you please clarify how can we come to a conclusion that my husband had intestinal worms., ? or some other tests are needed?

Could you please verify the above feedback and suggest any solution for him.

Appreciate your help if you redirect to any good ayurvedic doctor in XXXXXXX area.
Please advice.

Brief Answer:
further details

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. As there is history of intestinal infection in the past thus seek an opinion of ‘gastroenterologist’ regarding IBS [irritable bowel syndrome] since it is one example of ‘psychosomatic’ disorder where both physical as well as mental [stress] plays an important role in the pathology.

PS. Is there any history of poor hygiene/poor sanitation [both for food & water], or having a weak immune system?

 2. If you want to conclude regarding the presence of intestinal worms one has to look for the following:

. increased or decreased appetite
. weight loss/stomach pain
. alternate diarrhea with constipation
. skin disorders [itching/rashes]
. anxiety/depression
. blood in stools with nausea/vomiting

 3. In blood picture one may go for CBC [complete blood count] for eosinophilia, low hemoglobin, microcytic anemia

. one can ask for stool examination for presence of ova/cyst
