Suggest Remedies For Pulled Muscles On The Collar Bone

Question: Hi. My 14 yr old son was awakened by a pain that feels like a bruise or pulled muscle in the front of his neck that he didn't have when he went to sleep. It's slightly above his collar bone, on lower neck. When I barely pressed it (to make sure I understood where), he reacted with pain.

Brief Answer:
Looks like muscular pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen the attached picture.
Based on your description and image it could not be a bruise.
As there is no redness it could be more of muscular pain.

Try ibuprofen tablet and local diclofenac ointment which I usually prescribe for my patients in my clinic.

If pain doesn't settle you need to consult with your pediatrician.
Let him take rest meanwhile.

Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
