Suggest Remedies For Painful Bump Above The Penis

Question: Hello,
I am a 45 year old male.
In the last month, I have developed a small (tender to the touch) bump directly center about 1/8" inch ABOVE my penis. The bump resides right on the pubic hair line and meets directly up as a friction point during sex. I originally thought it was an ingrown hair as a result of regular grooming. However, there is no "head" to the bump so I am at a loss.
I do believe it has something to do with my recently VERY Active sex life as the bump meets up exactly with the female pelvis bone area. I would appreciate any insight.. Thank you

Brief Answer:
It looks like a Boil which is arising.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thank you for your question.
You are right it is a boil without a head.
You can apply Mupirocin ointment on it and do warm foamentation for pain relief.
I suggest take a course of antibiotics for a week like Tab Augmentin 1gm twice a day after meals. And if the pain is excessive then take Tab Combiflam as and when required.
It will then either form some yellow pus and burst or will settle down completely.
Don't worry it will take a few days and settle down.
Do let me know if there are any queries on this issue.

Would a boil swell deep under the skin? The area is swollen deeper and wider than the picture shows. (should have sent you a better picture)
Additionally, I first noticed the bump close to 45 days ago. Would a boil take that long to subside? It almost feels like a swollen gland would feel.. It's not hard like a cist, but it has swelled larger since I first noticed it.. Obviously due to its location, sexual activity applies friction to it.. Would that be why it is not going away on its own?

Brief Answer:
It could be an abscess formed due to a boil.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
Sorry for the delay in replying.
A boil if it converts to an abscess can swell deep under the skin. But then there should be pain, redness and hardness in the area. There are no such glads in that area other than sweat glands or sebaceous glands, both of which are part of the skin of that area.
Please get yourself examined by a Surgeon as examination is the best way of knowing what it is. If the Surgeon has difficulty in coming to a conclusion then an Ultrasound would be prudent. That would easily see what it is. If it is an abscess it would be best to do surgical drainage of the same. Antibiotics would be required in either case.
Therefore, I would suggest you start antibiotics as I suggested earlier and see a Surgeon who can examine you.
Take care and I will wait for your reply if there would be other queries,
