Brief Answer:
About elevated liver enzymes

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Attempts to lower elevated liver enzymes depends on what is causing their elevation in the first place. For example elevated liver enzymes can be temporary such as from having briefly taken a medication, or from a "stomach flu" gastroenteritis. These resolve on their own from resolution of the problem. However sometimes elevated liver enzymes can be from an ongoing problem such as being overweight which can cause fatty liver disease, or from a chronic infection such as certain forms of hepatitis.

Have these liver enzymes been consistently elevated over time? How high are they?

If liver enzymes are either quite high or remain elevated on repeat blood work then evaluation of the liver by ultrasound can be helpful. But if there is something preventable that is going on, such as a medication that can be stopped, then it is important to do so, and the liver enzymes will return to normal.
