Suggest Remedies For Dry Skin On The Penis
Question: Hi Dr. Since I have a membership I wanted to followup.
We last spoke about my Frictional Scarring a few weeks ago on the side of the penis area.
After some thought and observation of the area...It seems to get slightly better with constant application of oils, etc but does not go away. If I do not apply any oil, etc the area will get very dry & white in color. It will appear as if it will flake but it will not flake away. I just wanted to run this by you and see if it is normal for these lesions of become very dry if rubbed without lotion.

Welcome back and thanks for your further follow up.
It is quite common sometimes to observe dry skin and tendency to flake. It is better to leave the area as such or if need to do moisturization then with bland one.
In my patients I suggest them to apply petrolatum ggelly based moisturizers. Any of the moisturization cream should not contain fragrance in it. It is because the fragrance in moisturization creams could irritate the soft penile skin.
Be gentle in intercourse or if do masturbation. Avoid friction and vigorous act over penile area.
