Question: Hello doctor, My 15 months old baby could not sleep well through the night. He doesn't cry or something but he wakes up many times and sits, then again sleeps changing his position. He also wakes 3-4 times a night for breastmilk. What to do to make him sleep comfortably throughout night?

Brief Answer:
It is normal and commonly observed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query. Incidentally yours is a common problem that a lot of new parents face. Babies are ill reputed for not sleeping well at night and for getting up at the slightest movement at night even though they might sleep deep at other times. Incidentally it is normal and nothing much can be done about it. Of course getting up a few times for feeding is normal and is a healthy sign. But otherwise you need not tr to make him sleep 'comfortably' through the night. The sleep-wake cycle has a definite pattern and that is different in an infant as from ours.

The only suggestion I can give you is to properly burp the baby after each feed.

Let me know if I could assist further.

Regards
