Question: I HAVE A LACERATION W/ APPROX. 50 DISSOLVABLE STITCHES...on each side of stitch marks I have a
narrow red line. I have applied rubbing alcohol w/ no stinging, hydrogen peroxide w/ no bubbling. The wound is 3 weeks old. Am I safe from infection, regarding the red line not extending farther than the wound?

Brief answer....nothing to worry
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern, however I would like to mention is that there is no problem to you since there is no local pain and no oozing of any pus from the wound or any fever and it is already 3 weeks since the suturing.
As far as red mark is concerned,it would go away slowly.
You can relax as everything is normal and there is no chance of any infection now.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to  me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
