Brief Answer:
Post transplantation needs chemotherapeutic drugs to prevent rejection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Honestly speaking, lung transplantation is itself in very primitive stage. Not much advanced has taken place like kidney transplant.
So many research work is still going on in lung transplantation field.. At present, chemotherapeutic drugs are given to prevent rejection post transplant.
No proven role of memory t cells or stem cells in lung transplantation at present.
But I am sure that research work is definitely going on in these areas in USA in following institutions.
1. Mayo clinic.
2. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
3. XXXXXXX clinic
4. Barnes Jewish hospital etc.
So inquire in these institutions.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Dr XXXXXXX
I appreciate you answering my questions with regards to lung transplants after further review I would like to ask you if you know of top clinic out of the U.S. who is a leader in research and treatment of stem cell treatments that can manipulate your own stem cells and reprogram them into specific lung stem cells for lung disorders. The clinics in the U.S. are not allowed by the FDA to manipulate stem cells by reprograming them into specific lung stem cells. your help would be greatly appreciated as I am running out of options.
