Brief Answer: it is a high possibility Detailed Answer: Hello The medications which you have mentioned are benzodiazepines and antipsychotics. The former is used for sleep or reducing agitation and the. latter anti psyhotic is used in case of psychotic disorders. So, if you are feeling good and normal with the presemt meds, it is likely that you have a psychotic illness. Wether the disorder is schizophrenia or schizophrenic affective illness needs symptom details to pin point. Any antipsychotic can be used to treat any kind of psychosis & one cannot determine a particular diagnosis with 100% acuuracy on the basis of meds only. The point that once you were on fluoxetine and trazodone combination does point towards an illness which has both depressive and psyhotic symptoms. So, this is quite likely that you have both a mood disorder and psychosis. Therefore, the diagnosis of schizo affactive disorder is also a high possibility. Hope the reply is useful for you Please ask more queries to clarify any doubts. Dr. Manisha Gopal MD psychiatry
