Question: My nephew got a bug bite (red color flying ant) above his left eye brow now hes whole top part of his left eye is swollen and pink. We went to local clinic (MBBS doctor) and he said it was just the bug bite and advised to take (zetiriz cold+suprimox kid tablet) thrice for two days. The actual bug bite happened yesterday around 8 am but the swelling of the eye didnt happen til he woke up this morning. I am just wondering if swelling will decrease automatically or something we need to be concerned about.

Brief Answer: apply ice packs on the eye Detailed Answer: Hello, Your nephew has been prescribed he right medicines. Please continue them. For the swelling of the left eye, you can apply ice packs locally for 5 to 10mins every 3 to 4 hrs. It should settle down soon. I assume the inside of his left eye is normal. If it is congested, then he may require eye drops as well. Please check for this. No other treatment is required for the swelling apart from regular icing. Wish him quick recovery. Regards,
