Brief Answer: Can try Latuda after psychiatrist consultation Detailed Answer: HI Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query. Combination of drugs work better than mono drug therapy in a patient with bipolar. Either you can take antidepressant with mood stabilizer i.e. lithium or sodium valporate with any antidepressant or mood stabilizer with atypical antipsychotic like amisulpiride, quetiapine etc. You have not mentioned the previous treatment records. In that case, you may want to try new drug 'latuda'. This is recently approved by FDA for bipolar depression. Latuda (lurasidone) is one such atypical antipsychotic. In 2013, its approved use has been extended to help in the treatment of bipolar depression by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This drug is not available over the counter and you have to consult a psychiatrist for prescription. Please give the detail about duration of illness, symptoms you have and previous treatment records, so i could help you in proper way. In case, you want further query about treatment option, you can ask. Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist
