Suggest Medication For Severe Anxiety

Question: is there any medications as far as "mood lifting" goes similar to gabapentin and/or stimulants (I know they're completely different) that aren't ssri 's, snri's, amphetamines, ect. Ive tried stratera and I didn't like it. ive searched on the internet and havnt found much other than the usual. I don't want an antidepressant. just something that wont make me tired but yet reduces anxiety, gives me energy but isn't something a doctor will be hesitant to prescribe. ive tried wellbutrin, Prozac, benzos, Adderall worked very well but takes a toll on the body. Gabapentin worked very well too but at the dose I had to take it to get any mood lifting effects it made me feel almost drunk. Tramadol always put me in a really good mood (different from other opiates). Like if you blended the effects of tramadol, Adderall, gabapentin all together that's what I would like to take. Any suggestions?i forgot to mention my issue is trouble focusing, anxiety, and trouble keeping my spirits and energy levels at a comfortable level. i have a good diet as well.

Brief Answer:
modafinil or armodafinil

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

From your history of medicines I suggest taking modafiil (provigil) or armodafinil (nuvigil).

These medicines are used for sleepiness and used as wakefulness agent. They are also called stimulants sometime. They may increase dopamine levels in the brain by binding to the dopamine transporter and inhibiting dopamine reuptake. It is doubtful that it will be helpful in anxiety or not but you told that it should not be ssri 's, snri's, amphetamines , so only remaining option is this.
You can discuss more about this option with your doctor.

Simultaneously also go for CBT- Cognitive behavior therapy.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
