Brief Answer:
Need some details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

Leukoplakia is considered a premalignant condition but it rarely turns malignant.

Since how long your ulcer is not healing?

Can you upload the pic of ulcer?
Do you have pain, bleeding or any other symptoms?

You can use chlorhexidine mouth wash along with your antibiotics.
Topical steroids are used in ulcers not responding to antibiotics.

A local examination is must to determine the possibility of cancer.

Hope to hear from you with details.
Thanks.

I have a burn like pain but today I get it checked by doctor he told its nothing serious as there is no lesion on ulcer there is no lump or bump around it. I don't have pic but it's located in the floor of the mouth and looks like 0.5 cm diameter. whitish in color. I have throat pain and little difficulty in swelling. before a week I had sub mendibular gland enlargement which came to normal after antibiotic course for 5 days.

doctor prescribed tabs containing steroids. but my cocern is will it be too late to wait for improvement
? as I was a smoker. what should I do now. what are the ways to rule out any malignancy
doctor

Brief Answer:
Tissue biopsy.

Detailed Answer:
Dear,
The best way to rule out malignancy is to go for tissue biopsy of the lesion.

As the lesion is not healing, choice of steroids is the right decision in my opinion.

As you have multiple symptoms and also leukoplakia with history of smoker, biopsy should be done.

Hope this helps.
Wish you speedy recovery.
Thanks.
