Brief Answer:
Kindly send all the test reports done so far.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.

On what basis, was an OAB diagnosed ?
Normally, it can be diagnosed after doing an urodynamic study.
In that case, treatment depends on the report.
You're advised to send the report.

The other common causes for your symptoms are,due to UTI,or prostate gland enlargement.( BPE ).
Kindly send the urine and blood reports done so far.
Also, the ultrasound scan and flowmetry tests.
After seeing these reports,i can give you an expert opinion on further treatment.

Wishing you good health.

Thank you Doctor
I am travelling and carrying my reports however as stated earlier after ultrasound it was found that my prostrate has been enlarged.
Last year my urine flow test was done and I was informed that I have a overactive bladder since my frequent urination has continued over 20years. I was also diagonised for prostratis and had been prescribed niftran100 for 5 days and my burning sensation had reduced. Even last week again I was asked to take niftran 100 for 5 days as I had burning sensation but not while passing urine. Do you think I should continue niftran for another course

Brief Answer:
Start Tablet Ciprofloxacin and Citralka syrup, after urine tests.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

You're having an obstructive prostate gland, with ?prostatitis, with ?UTI.
OAB is overactive bladder, which hasn't been explained with any reports.

Urine flow test alone, can't diagnose overactive bladder.
You'll need the urodynamic test and a TRUS (trans-rectal ultrasound scan).

After your travel, send all the reports.
Give your urine for routine and culture test.
After that, you may start a Ciprofloxacin tablet, twice daily.

You can also take Citralka syrup, twice daily.
Drink about 10 glasses fluids daily.

Send all the reports after your travel, for further advise.
Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
You need treatment for BPE and ? UTI. Send all reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Ciprofloxacin is treatment for UTI (urinary infection).
So start it only after giving urine, for routine and culture test.
After giving the urine sample, take it till reports are available.
You need it,only if UTI is seen in the reports.

As Dutas isn't giving you relief for BPE,you must do the flowmetry and scan.
These tests will confirm your B.P.E.and which drug will give most relief.
Accordingly, specific treatment to relieve you of symptoms, will be advised.

Wish you well. You may send all the reports,to me,for an expert opinion.
