Brief Answer:
Need to check your tonsils firstly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.

A clinical examination will be needed looking at your symptoms. Throat symptoms will be a harbinger of events to follow - hence timely examination of your throat and tonsils will help in early detection of diagnosis and treatment.

Crocin (OTC drug) has Paracetamol (assuming 500 mg) which will take care of your fever. The dosage recommendations will change as per pattern of fever and if utilized to control pain too. Else pain killers on prescription will be advised.

Meanwhile, you would best do warm salt water gargling to soothe the throat. You may need prescription for additional drugs for gargling.

If infection with bacteria is confirmed - a preliminary antiinfective drug will have to be prescribed on the basis of your geographical guidelines for a set duration and dosage.

Paying a visit to the doctor would be best, just to be sure you are not in the league of certain dangerous fevers doing the rounds this monsoon season. Specific tests exist for diagnosing many types of fevers.

Let me know if I have missed out any other concern in your question.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely,

Dr Sujeet N Charugulla,
