Brief Answer:
We have to exclude medical cause then

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concerns.

1. Since Orthopaedic opinion is taken with necessary investigation he must have taken due consideration in ruling out PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) and Herniated Disc as the cause of numbness.

2. So in order to proceed further we have to exclude medical causes of the same:

I. Take opinion of Neurologist to exclude any Neurological cause of numbness
II. check with your Blood sugar and Vitamin B12 level
III. Any prolonged Substance Abuse like alcohol?

Do revert back.

Brief Answer:
meticulous examination is necessary

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. since there is no short cut to any diagnosis thus one has to rule/exclude causes of numbness through general examination and physical presence. [Vaat+Pitta]

PS. In Ayurveda we also deal with numbness after ruling out every aspect, we can either consider it as Siragat Vaaat/ Supt Vaat or Snayugat Vaat or Sira Marma Abhigaat.

2. make sure your Occupation [constant sitting in same position] and/or dietary/ lifestyle [exposure to cold/dry food and whether, overweight ( high cholesterol)] is not an underlying cause.

3. In Ayurveda we usually follow the line of treatment according to:
Vatarakta or Gambhir Vatarakta thus following is/are recommended guidelines

i. Take: old brown rice, arhar/moong/masoor dal, white gourd, potato, shatavari, ghee, abhyang, garlic, ginger, water, hot and cold bath for 20 minutes alternatively

ii. Avoid: horse gram,peas,radish,curd,bitter-sour-heavy-hot food, mushroom, turnip,day time sleeping,excess physical exertion,urad dal,sesame seed,meat, alcohol,processed food,food rich in sugar/salt,caffeine,smoking, undue stress

iii. mix nutmeg powder in coconut oil and massage or buy pinda tail/ mahamarichyadi or guduchi tail

iv. take;
. ras manikya 250 mg
gandhak rasayan 250 mg
arogyavardhini vati 2 tab
guduchi satva 500 mg..... thrice daily with ghee

v. other measures which you can consider:

. regular physical activity to boost your circulation [walking/biking/running/ swimming]
. stretching exercises [if sitting long in one position]
. massage as advised above
. take natural blood thinners which strength capillary walls and improve circulation: [citrus fruits]
others: dark chocolates,water melon,avocados.
